Jadavji Laboratory

Nafisa M. Jadavji, PhD

Vision

Our vision is to transform lifelong brain health by advancing the understanding of how nutrition shapes brain function, resilience, and recovery

Mission

The Jadavji Laboratory investigates how the brain responds to different biological processes throughout the lifespan with a nutritional neuroscience focus. We conduct preclinical research to understand how age-related conditions impact brain function and how the nervous system interacts with the body.

Specifically, using in vitro and in vivo models we investigate ischemic stroke and vascular dementia, the impact of maternal nutrition on offspring health, and examine the role of nutrition on neurodegeneration.

All members of the laboratory are given opportunities to learn and conduct rigorous biomedical research under mentorship by Dr. Nafisa Jadavji.

The Jadavji Laboratory promotes an open, collaborative, rigorous, and fun environment to learn and grow as a scientist and individual.
